AuctionMate Pro — Privacy Policy

AuctionMate Pro is a Chrome browser extension that helps you evaluate vehicle auction listings on Copart and IAAI. This policy is intentionally short and in plain language. If anything is unclear, email auctionmatepro@gmail.com.

What stays in your browser

Almost everything. The following are stored locally on your own device, and we don't have copies:

• Watch lists, saved notes, reminders, and settings that you create.
• A postal code (zip code) that you enter in Settings, used only to estimate zone-based shipping costs. We do not collect your IP address, GPS coordinates, or precise location.
• Recently viewed auction lot details (Copart and IAAI lot URL, VIN, vehicle title, prices), cached to avoid re-fetching. This cache stays on your device, is not transmitted to our backend, and is not used to build a profile of your browsing activity.

If you sign in with Google for the optional sync feature, Chrome's built-in sync replicates your watch lists and preferences across your Chrome browsers. That sync is run by Chrome — we don't operate sync servers.

What goes to our backend

When you look up a VIN, the extension sends the VIN and a few related fields (year, make, model, title type) to our backend so we can return verified vehicle specifications and market values. We use a short-term cache to keep responses fast; nothing about your activity is stored long-term.

To keep the lookup feature working, our backend may relay the VIN to a licensed automotive data provider. We don't share anything else with third parties.

Standard request logs (IP address, request path, timestamp) are retained for 30 days for abuse prevention and debugging, then deleted automatically.

What we don't collect

• Your name, email, or address — unless you choose to sign in with Google for sync.
• Browsing history outside auction pages you load yourself.
• Anything for advertising, analytics, or profiling.

We don't sell your data.

Notifications

Reminders are entirely opt-in. Setting one schedules a desktop notification at the time you choose. Nothing about the reminder leaves your device.

Deleting your data

• In your browser: open Chrome's extension settings, click *AuctionMate Pro → Details*, and choose *Clear data*. That removes everything stored locally.
• From our backend: email auctionmatepro@gmail.com and we'll remove any cached lookups associated with your usage.

Children

This extension is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

Changes

If we update this policy, the "Last updated" date at the top will change. Material changes will be announced inside the extension before they take effect.
